The Previous President Goodluck Jonathan has communicated confidence that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will end up noticeably strong after its Saturday national convention.
He said this in an interview with newsmen after his visit to Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, in Port Harcourt, on Sunday.
Jonathan additionally communicated the expectation that by Saturday PDP would choose its new arrangement of national authorities.
He stated, “God willing we will experience the convention and the gathering will wind up noticeably strong.

“Presently, we have the National Caretaker Committee and when you are overseer you are not as strong as a chosen executive.
“You know the gathering just experienced difficulties, fortunately, we went the difficulties through the pronouncement of the Supreme Court.
“Now, we have the National Caretaker Committee and when you are caretaker you are not as strong as elected chairman.
“You know the party just went through challenges, luckily we passed the challenges through the pronouncement of the Supreme Court.
“Now we want to formally elect the national officials of the party that will lead us to 2019 elections.”
The ex-president further explained that he was not in Port Harcourt for any meeting but to appreciate the support Wike gave him during the burial of his brother-in-law.
“He assisted us and he came physically with his deputy and some principal officers of the state,” he said.
