Posted by Iheme Edmond On February 10, 2019
Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi has finally reacted to a clash between supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Obi, in a tweet on Sunday, called for calm following the incident. On Saturday, APC and PDP supporters clashed shortly after Obi’s convoy made its way to leave dei-dei market. According to an Eyewitness report from Blossom Martins, a vehicle in Obi’s convoy(PDP) and vehicles belonging to the APC were burnt in the resulting clash.
He wrote;
Following the departure of my team from Dei-Dei market, I’ve gotten reports of unprovoked attack on supporters of PDP who overwhelmingly turned up to welcome us. I would like to appeal to everyone for calm even at this critical time. #LetsGetNigeriaWorkingAgain
