APC Loses 5,000 Members To PDP In Delta State

A week to the weekend local government election, the All Progressives Congress, APC has suffered a major setback.

Following the defection of over 5,000 of its members to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Ika North East local government area.

Led by a chieftain of the party in the area, Comrade Ebenezer Obiazorkwo and other seven APC ward chairmen,

the defectors said their exit from the APC was the end of opposition in the local government, adding that the PDP was the only party that is on the ground in Delta State.

Comrade Obiazorkwo who spoke on behalf of the defectors said they have decided to follow light, truth and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa whose leadership style they claimed had brought peace, unity and development to all parts of the state.

Obiazorkwo assured Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of their total loyalty, saying “we will never return to Egypt on our political journey.

Receiving the defectors, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa told the new entrants that the PDP would give them equal treatment with old members.

Saying they have made the best decision to join the PDP, the Governor assured Deltans of more dividends of democracy.

He assured Deltans that more will be coming to them in 2018 and urged them to sustain their support for the State Government.
