The Nigeria Broadcasting Commission (NBC) in the evening of Thursday. June 6, suspended the license of DAAR Communication Plc, which runs the African Independent Televison ( AIT) and RayPower, a radio station.
The license was suspended until further notice.
It was learnt that the development was announced by the director-general of NBC, Modibbo Kawu.
Kawu accused the broadcasting organisation of refusing to abide by the code governing its operations adding that this was the reason it was axed.
Noting that the decision was not taken as a result of political partisanship, Moddibo said the organisation had consistently flouted the broadcasting code of the country despite persistent warnings.
